First Manuscript of 2025

First Manuscript of 2025

Our first manuscript of the year was released this week, which was a collaborative effort of 45 authors across three continents (North America, Europe, and Africa).

This study tracked green turtles in Martinique over 11 years and found that those affected fibropapillomatosis (FP) often take years to recover from the disease. Although FP-positive turtles did not show higher mortality rates compared to non-FP turtles, their prolonged recovery may affect their ability to complete essential migrations. Notably, one foraging area experienced twice the disease severity and faster progression than a nearby site, highlighting the need for further research to understand these differences.
